Nowadays, many managers in the manufacturing industry are using the technical internship system, but at the same time, we often hear stories about technical intern trainees' residency, such as "I've taken the trouble to learn the job, but..." or "My intern wants to learn more here.
Originally, the purpose of the Technical Intern Training System was to provide international cooperation to developing countries through the education of technology, etc. Therefore, it is inevitable under the system that technical interns will return to their home countries, but the reality is that there are situations in which the manufacturing industry has no choice but to rely on foreign workers such as technical interns.
Therefore, I would like to introduce to all of you the "Specially Designated Technical Skills System," which was newly amended in the 19th year of the law.
Under the previous law, the status of residence was often difficult to obtain, such as "Professorship" or "Advanced Human Resources," but after the 2019 amendment, a new status of residence called "Specified Skills No. 1 and No. 2" was newly established.
This system allows technical intern trainees who are engaged in the following 14 specified industries to extend their period of stay.
